PostSubject: Fruits Basket   Sat Mar 29, 2008 4:29 am

From Baka-Updates Manga:
The enigmatic Sohma family shares a great secret, its members are possessed by spirits of the Chinese Zodiac, and when they are hugged by members of the opposite sex, they transform into their Zodiac animal! Tohru Honda, an orphaned high school freshman, is given lodging in the Sohma household in exchange for taking care of household chores. The humble Tohru is quite grateful for the Sohma family's generosity, and the longer she stays with them, the more they realize what a blessing she is in their lives, as well.

give your opinion about the manga, its plot, art and characters. and what did you think about the ending? was it the perfect one or should it have been an other ending?

If you havent read it yet (which i really doubt lol! ) just go and get it now! its going to be your most favourite manga ever!

This manga is in my top 20 list of favourite manga. I think the anime version was okay too. I like the different characters in this manga. Almost like hana kimi in a way with how the characters are developed. A must read. happy

It's loooong. And the plot development is quite slow. IMHO, it would have been better to shorten it, there were quite a few plot twists I found unnecessary.

I agree with gatita..
its definitely could be better..
cuz i really like the beginning and the story line..
but they did seem to put more than they need to in the middle..

One of my all time favorites, the characters grow with you, its funny, tear wrenching, and exciting the whole time through. Highly recommended.

This is a pretty good manga. I'm not a fan of the ending though...although I find that I don't really like many conclusions to stories...it's hard to please me. lol. I don't want to spoil anything but the whole Akito business was a little weird...

But I liked the sweet funny moments...and the dramatic, heartwrenching ones...I definitely teared while reading this.

Animé wasn't too shabby either.

One of the BEST!

Art= 10/10 (cuz of the unique drawing style)
Story= 10/10 (Captivating, sweet + LOVED THE ENDING!)
Characters= 10/10 (each has his/her unique personalty)
Will I ever read it again? = 100% YES! (although it's WAY long..)

I love the manga much better then the anime of this one...the manga has so much more depth...they both make me laugh...but so much happens in the manga...it almost goes kind of dark at some points.

I love animals, so when I read Fruit basket, I really like it :P. esp when I think Tohru hugs the cat ...Omg...I want to read it again :P

What a great series! The art is wonderful and the story is so good. I really enjoyed the manga since everything gets explained and all the everyone is happy at the end. That's a great way to do a series.

I really like this series. I've been buying the Tokyopop releases so I have'nt read the end yet. The most recent Tokyopop release was so good. I'm so tempted to download the scans, but I'm going to try and hold out. I just wish Tokyopop would release them faster. sad
