PostSubject: Hair (wat good does it make for your hair if u had long hair?)   Tue Apr 01, 2008 9:03 pm

my hair is wavy..and frizzy, and my hair goes down to like 1 inch below my shoulders. Does anyone think that if i grew my hair, it would be less wavy and wouldn't be like..fat..kinda all over the place? (thick..sorta)
My friend told me that i look like a cocker spanial. cus it has ears that go down and at the end, its like round....goes like half a circle shape. xD

i straighten my hair..so that i would be straight but when i do, i would get lots of split ends, so i dont do it anymore.

so......would it be better to keep it long? and how long? but if i did, it would take longer to wash it and stuff..xD

Hm..I think growing your hair out won't make it any less frizzy, but frizzy hair is very stylish. I think you could just leave it as it is and just dress up to match your hair. :P Try dangly earrings and denim jackets (80s or 90s? style).

I've grown out my hair and I think I want it cut T.T

When I was in Primary School my hair was quite short (not even shoulder length)

I don't really like having long hair personally I'd rather have it at a shoulder length.

I have long hair, and personally I'm planning on cutting it. I find it very annoying, and yes it does take longer to wash. Also, I don't think by growing out your hair, it will become less frizzy - by the way, isn't frizzy supposed to be stylish?

If you want to use straighteners, use some heat defence spray beforehand, this will prevent split ends. Long hair is rather annoying since it can get tangled easily but you can do a lot with it. Try experimenting with differen't styles with your current hair.

Try frizz ease lol. I find frizzy hair quite adorable actually =]

The longer your hair gets the more the weight will pull on the curls straightening them out. So yes your hair would get straighter. However it will still be frizzy, harder to manage, and there still will be some curl just not enough to look good (or at least in my experience).

If you have thick hair and you want to minimize the look of it avoid getting your hair layered, feathered etc.

As for the frizz, I use garnier's frizz milk. It works quite well.

Another trick to manage your hair is braid it when it's wet, with some product in it, and sleep on it. Your hair will still be slightly damp in the morning so it will be easy to style and will dry with less frizz.

how is frizzy stylish?? no offense to anyone, but frizz and wavy hair is hard to tame..and i rather have straight bouncy hair. Altho when i straighten my hair, it becomes bounmcy against the wind :) but it makes more split ends -.-

I have a problem with frizziness too.

I agree with cbunny, I noticed that when I kept my hair longer (elbow length) it was straighter because it was heavier. And I will totally check out garnier's frizz milk. albino

Right now I have long straight hair (2 inches above elbow), but only the top layer gets frizzy and gross looking. And I'm not talking frizzy and bouncy and fun, I'm talking only the top layer, so it looks weird. I've used Dove's advanced care: repairing treatment THERAPY, and it works pretty well>> you just have to make sure to rinse a little longer than usual because it's very slick and stays in your hair easily.

But lately I've been intersted in cutting my hair really short. Either a bob or something shorter to achieve that androgynous look! As long as I don't look too much like a lesbian I'm fine (Lesbians are cool, I just don't want to look like one). I think this all stems from reading those gender bender shoujos!!!=D

I have wavy hair when I have it cut short (which has been a few years)... Right now I keep my hair about 2 inches below the bottom of my butt so, needless to say, its long.

Long hair because of its weight, I've noticed, will pull the wave out.

As for frizz... divide your shampoo out into two seperate containers; add honey to one. You have to wash your hair really well after but it works great.

Mm yeah, on what Vietmee said, my mum says a slightly similar thing. Which is... don't go to sleep with wet hair cause when you are older you will get headaches. I don't listen to her though since I'm too lazy to blowdry my hair.

As for long hair... I dunno but it seems troublesome. Then again my hair is straight (asian hair for you)... so I wouldn't really know.

Cockerspaniels are cute though ^^ hah kidding. Sorta. I do find the dog cute though.

My hair is medium length but I don't think you should keep it really long. If you have split ends then you would need a trim very often. Long hair is too hard to manage (I think)

i have long hair and no bang. I was thinking of cutting my hair short and start having a bang. However, my face is kind of squarish and short, so i don't know which hair style i should choose.

My hair is super fine and straight but it will get frizzy if I don't brush it soon enough after washing it or if I don't use conditioner.
Although her short hair is straight, my sister's hair actually curls when it gets long (it's not fizzy though). So it's not always true that longer means less curl. I think it just depend on how heavy your hair is and how much curl it naturally has.
I agree with the person who recommended a de-frizzing product. there are products like that out there...just browse any decent drug store or ask at a good salon.

So I got a bob 2 weeks ago, chin length. It's quite a change, but I really like it.

Lovmanga, my face is round so I was a little worried too, but the hair stylist gave me the perfect length, because I wanted to go shorter, but she said it wouldn't look as good. I already had bangs with my long hair, so i kept it. But instead of looking like a traditional doll, the shorter hair makes it look more modern.

I think usually the hair stylist has in mind what would flatter your face the most! (and they went to beauty school and had to take tests on this kinda thing, right??) Go for it, and good luck!

I totally had hair like yours when I was a teenager! I hated it so much. It fluffed out in this kind of.. A-line look. Just like a cocker spaniel. ;_; I tried so many different things.

In the end... I now have straight, flatter hair and I love it. It took a combination of things. Garnier Nutriesse Sleek and Shine shampoo and conditioner, Sharper Image hair straightener (takes me five minutes now, with all the practice), and living in a drier climate. When I lived in Austin, my hair would be poofy and wavy no matter what I did to it. It's almost 100% humidity there! But here in Denver... yay, dry! And dry leads to flatter hair. <3.3 It's wonderful.

PostSubject: hi am hairdresser   Mon May 26, 2008 9:06 am

ill give you some tips/advice..

you know it really depends on what you wanna do to ur hair.. like where you live, what is the shape of your face and etc...

if you want a long hair. for me i like long hair for gurls.. trust me its ok! but shoulder length are also pretty...

if you wanna straighten your hair.. you should really go to a salon and have it rebonded.. the service is what you call HAIR REBONDING STRAIGHT..remember its not relax okieeess...its abit costly but its the effects are really nice.. its smooth, shiny, soft and straight... thats the 4S for you.. and then you wont have to worry about things anymore.. u will have straight hair that has 4S..

You could try growing it out and getting it perm-straightened. Those last for abt a year, so you don't have to worry abt split ends and dead hair as much.

In my opinion, having long hair is a pain, since you have tou brush them often, when some hair falls, it's like you have lost so much that you will end up bald, you have a heavy head, if you have thick hair, it doesn't look better than with short hair, ....It was my case.
I cut mine really short, enough to be in peace, and it suits me better (well, everybody i saw told me so).
In the end, having long hair was only good because my hair is shiny, makes naturally nice curls. But it was not worth the trouble, so i cut it and am happy now

Vitamin supplements like Biotin and Fish Oil are supposed to make hair stronger and smoother. i have really long frizzy/curly hair that I have no control over. I'm black, chinese, native american, and german, add all those together and you get hair that doesn't do anything you want it to. It's the kinda hair that makes dread knots over night...

haah. i'm probably the only one on this thread to say this but i have long hair that goes down to the small of my back and i absolutely luvv it. there's just so much you can do with long hair!! when u wash ur hair make sure the conditioner gets to the tips of the hair strands and leave it in for a lil longer rather than washing it right off.

go easy on the towel drying. don't be too rough cuz that increases the split ends especially with hair that's been straightened a lot. and brushing wet hair excessively also causes strands to break and form split ends because wet hair is naturally weaker than dry hair.

as for the frizz, any brand of frizz ease would do. i use samy's antifrizz serum. its great for dry hair cuz it makes ur hair a lil shiny but not to the point that it looks greasy.

and yes, your hair should straighten out a bit as it grows. you still might need a lil weight at the bottom so the strands dont fly away. the right combo of products should do the trick.

well, that was my two cents. i hope something was helpful!
