One of my favorite (yet, underrated) mangaka. Her work are different, but I like it since more realistic than other shoujo titles.

Some of her works includes: KISS, Beauty is the Beast, His Back, and 23:00.

(Btw, there's really not that much info on her personally and I can't read anything other than English to know what's going on--refering to her Japanse webpage)

If anyone is a fan of her, let me know, since I would love to do a head count.

I like this author, not until be a fan, but the development of the stories of this author is brilliant. As you said it that gets closer a little more to the reality, it is more human, but the contents of the story, these footnotes of history of love which evolve allows the readers to dream and to become identified with the characters. Who never have loving hang of a professor or another .

well, her works are not cute-sy.
seems more abstract and deep i'd say.
but i'm ok as long as there's good plot... (I'm a "plot-ty" person)
enjoyed her works that i've read so far
which incl:
2300,
Koi,
That Summer,
Rumours,
Senaka no Otoko

- works that i really like

I also recommend

Kiss
It's great. They've got that awkward humor (akin to Steve Carell's style) but there's always something very sexy about them. You can tell that Matsumoto-sama is extremely skilled. The images aren't just nice to look at, they've got meat- I can feel their expressions, even the slightest of touches turn things- and turn those series of images into a scene.

If manga were put into film terms, I'd say she was the master of indie.
I've also read Rumors, 23:00, Beauty Is The Beast (1st one i ever read), Beauty Honey (waiting on an update!), Eikaiwa School Wars (waiting for an update!), Koi, That Summer, and Senaka no Otoko.

I love her so much! You can tell she'd be so cool to hang out with.
Whenever I go to Book-Off or Kinokuniya, I always look for her works. smile

I'm surprised more people are not commenting on this topic. Matsumoto Tomo creates beautiful artwork and stories happy Kiss is my most favorite work of hers. I really do not like to read long stories but Kiss was too good to pass up. Also, Beauty is the Beast is great. If you want to read something different try matsumoto tomo!
